The area around Peace Hotel was considered one of New York's older districts. There were relatively few skyscrapers, and many places had nothing but three- or four-story residential buildings.
The buildings were separated only by narrow gaps. At least when they had been built, developers had only needed to think about how to fit in more rooms, not whether they received enough light.
A group of masked people leaped and chased one another across the rooftops of these buildings. Gunshots rang out from time to time, and those nearby could even see the thrilling hand-to-hand fighting.
Chaotic brawls involving a bunch of masked people were not uncommon in New York, but what was interesting was that these five seemed to be fighting independently. Any two of them would come to blows.
As they chased one another, they finally reached a relatively spacious rooftop. Unless they turned back, there was nowhere else to jump to.
Thus, beneath the faint night sky, the five formed a circle, all watching one another warily as they slowly shifted their footing.
The circle began to turn.
"Stop, Punisher! Don't kill anyone else!"
Holding his weapon, the Billy Club, Daredevil called out to the man across from him holding an assault rifle. A grenade launcher was mounted beneath the rifle's handguard.
Punisher had his gun aimed at the man with a target painted on his forehead, though his gaze occasionally drifted toward the archer as well. He did not look at Daredevil at all as he replied, "I won't stop. I haven't avenged my family yet. When American law loses its justice, my own law is more effective. Criminals must die!"
