Thor, who had gotten himself a cake, resisted the urge to lick the hammer beneath the counter. He had only picked it up for a moment—it was still just an ordinary iron hammer—so he put it back down.
Money-grubbers like Daisy and Caroline had even forgotten to collect payment. Curious, he leaned over to take a look as well.
He wanted a phone too, but after hearing that he had to pay for it every month, he had temporarily shelved the idea. That did not stop him from knowing what phones could do.
Ordinary phones could not automatically sound an alarm when separated from their user by ten meters, but they could make calls, access the internet, and watch live broadcasts.
"Shh!!!" Daisy shot him a glare and rapidly pressed the phone's volume button until everyone could hear the commentary. Then she replied, "Didn't you notice when you crossed the street? Over there, on the rooftop not far away, some masked people are having a shootout. We're watching the show."
Thor understood. This was something Earth and Asgard had in common: people liked watching others fight.
In Asgard, it was usually weapon fights between warriors. On Earth, competitions involving weapons were rare, and things like boxing, judo, and wrestling on television were far too gentle. He found them rather lacking.
The sound of a helicopter came from the sky. Wilson TV Station's news helicopter had arrived as well, as usual getting there before the police.
Thor simply leaned closer, crouching beside the three women to watch the phone screen, even though everyone looked upside down from his angle.
