"What? You can't bear to leave this place?"

Su Ming patted the nauseous Battle Sister on the shoulder, stepping between her and Wade while signaling his cousin to put away the Black Diamond.

Efferal looked toward the pitch-black horizon and took a deep breath of the sour, rancid air. "This terrace and this room may be the place where I've stayed the longest besides the convent."

"If you like it, we'll take the entire Relay Station with us. Wherever you want to live, I'll put The Tower there." Su Ming smiled as he answered. Moving a Relay Station was far easier than moving a giant Blackstone pyramid.

The Battle Sister turned her gaze back to his face. Once she was sure he wasn't joking, she could not help feeling confused.

"I don't know whether this is right. Ever since I was little, I was taught to restrain all my desires and retain only my loyalty to the Emperor, or else I would fall into the Abyss." She lowered her head and turned the soda bottle in her hands, as though organizing her thoughts. "But since meeting you, I've indulged in all kinds of food these past days, indulged in everything you brought. They make me happy, but I haven't fallen. I can feel that there seems to be something in my heart."

Her hand turned over and over, as if she were trying to find the right word but simply could not think of one.

Deathstroke sat down beside her and pulled out a bottle of liquor for a drink.

"Hope. The word you want is hope. Once people's basic needs for survival and daily life are met, they begin pursuing higher spiritual goals. That goal is called hope, and it is precisely what humanity in this universe lacks."

"Hope?"
