The battle had only just begun. These ordinary little aircraft were but a drop in the ocean compared to the Shi'ar Empire's overall military strength, worthless cannon fodder with little value.
Shi'ar's strength lay not only in the massive fleet they possessed, but also in the powerful individuals they had.
Through their research into the M'Kraan Crystal, these powerful bird people could use faith to condense Cosmic Energy. And as long as one mastered energy, one possessed a basic right to speak in this universe.
There was an entire force of several hundred such people capable of wielding Cosmic Energy within the Shi'ar Empire: the famous Shi'ar Royal Imperial Guard.
The Imperial Guard's captain, Gladiator, was even known as one of Marvel's Supermen. He possessed nearly all the abilities Clark had next door, yet lacked weaknesses such as Kryptonite.
He possessed superhuman physical attributes to begin with, and he could also use Cosmic Energy to open Hyper space passages, reaching speeds several times faster than light. However, because he did not grasp the Time Concept, that speed could not carry him through time.
He could survive in extreme environments such as the interior of a star, withstand impacts on the level of a supernova explosion, and aside from several legendary magical plagues, he was nearly immune to all diseases, radiation, and viruses.
The most troublesome thing was that, due to Gladiator's nature, as long as he possessed "confidence," he could increase his strength without limit, much like Hulk's "anger."
However, Su Ming had long made preparations before dealing with the Shi'ar Empire. Weaknesses of the mind were often easier to target than weaknesses of the body. That was why Peter, the "jerk backup," had been added to the team. If Gladiator showed up, they would give him a surprise.
