The obsidian headband spread behind Hela's head, gradually weaving itself into a spider-like crown with eight legs. She crossed her legs, revealing her snow-white ankle.
The green flames in the brazier flickered, but Tyr stood motionless beside the throne. Aside from giving Deathstroke a nod when he entered, he had returned to his indifferent state. Only ghostly green fire burned in his eyes.
"Volstagg just went to Earth and told me Odin had gone missing. I thought you were up to something again." Su Ming pulled Daisy down to sit, then leaned against one armrest and propped his cheek on his fist. "What can you tell me about this?"
"He went missing? Heh. Who could make Odin disappear without a sound?" Hela sneered, patting her mouth as she yawned. "It's probably the same old trick—making himself disappear to lure hidden enemies into walking into a trap. I won't fall for that."
Su Ming nodded, then shook his head. The red flame of his lighter added a touch of warmth to the hall before vanishing in an instant.
The cigarette butt glowed in the darkness, then dimmed. "What if I told you someone lured me away not for Earth, but for Asgard?"
Hela looked at Tyr beside her, then smiled at Deathstroke. Lifting her skirt, she rose to her feet. "Then that's even more interesting. You want Odin to die in a way outside the prophecy and use that as an opportunity to break the cycle. Wasn't that your backup plan?"
The moment she finished speaking, the air became even quieter. Deathstroke merely smiled without answering as he watched Hela, while the goddess of death smiled as well, with no intention of saying more.
In that strange atmosphere, Daisy cast a suspicious glance at Deathstroke.
Something felt off. This tall woman
