Just as Gladiator had said, after seeing Deathstroke and Daisy to the dining hall, he left. The civil war had only just ended, and in case there were any stragglers, he needed to return to command headquarters to monitor the sector. He would not be joining them.

Besides, this was a royal banquet. As the Guard Captain, he was not qualified to sit down and dine with them.

The moment they pushed open the Golden Door engraved with wings, everyone laughing and dining at the table turned to look. At some point, an old-fashioned record player had also appeared in the dining hall, playing one of Armstrong's old songs.

At the round table draped in a pristine white cloth, Lilandra sat facing the doors. Charles was on her left, while Deathbird sat on her right.

Deathbird's memories had been altered, and she now seemed like an innocent little sister. Smiling brightly, she clung to one of her sister's arms while gnawing on a piece of fruit with her other hand.

Charles was still seated in his wheelchair, wearing his usual calm smile.

Perhaps he was deeply uncomfortable with the method used to alter Deathbird's memories, but Deathstroke had proposed this plan, and he had no better way to resolve the matter more appropriately.

Though the two sisters who had fought each other for years now appeared inseparable, the plan still sent chills down his spine. He himself would never alter memories in a similar fashion to make all humanity accept Mutants. That did not align with his values.

Everyone should have the freedom to express their thoughts according to their own will. Even if people initially showed resistance toward Mutants, that was their right. His side could change more people's views of Mutants through better actions, but they should not
