It was much as expected. The moment they entered Destruction Brood territory, they encountered desperate resistance. The crazed bugs swarmed toward the ruined Floating Island aboard waves of Bio-ships, blotting out the sky like a tsunami.
Susan used her power to conceal the entrance leading underground, securing their rear for the time being. Yet within mere minutes, Zerg corpses had piled into mountains across the ground, doubling the Floating Island's size.
If the Floating Island had once looked like a flat plane flying through space, it now resembled an overfilled bowl of rice, heaped high above the rim.
"Godslayer, soft sword."
Standing atop the corpse pile, Su Ming ordered the weapon in his hand to transform into a soft form dozens of meters long. He then swung it like a whip, sweeping away swarms of charging bugs.
Simple carapaces could not stop a divine weapon. The sensation of the blade passing through the bugs' bodies was like slicing tofu.
Individual Destruction Brood were not particularly strong, and their technology had not advanced far along the path of biological evolution. But there were simply too many of them. They were probably the fastest-breeding of the three major Zerg factions. At this rate, they might be producing new bugs faster than he could kill them.
