When it came to DC's super robots, Red Tornado was only good for a laugh. If they were talking real combat power, Amazo was the one to watch.

The name Amazo (A.M.A.Z.O.) was actually an abbreviation, much like Gundam. Its full name was Anti-Metahuman Adaptive Zootomic Organism—an "adaptive anti-metahuman bionic robot."

Though it looked like an ordinary burly man, perhaps with some strange little devices wrapped around its head at most, Marvel's Sentinel Robots next door had actually been "paying tribute" to it. Amazo had been created in 1960, while Sentinel Robots were created in 1965—the same old routine of simply "borrowing" ideas.

One looked like an ordinary person, while the other looked like a towering machine, but their core abilities were identical: copying an enemy's superpowers for their own use.

Amazo was actually stronger, because it possessed its own thoughts. It could connect to the internet and download data to evolve continuously, with thoughts and values like those of a human. Sentinel Robots had none of that.

Having realized their tribute was not thorough enough, Marvel introduced Ultron in 1968. In other words, combining the abilities of a Sentinel Robot with Ultron's mind would more or less produce an Amazo.
