The civilians in Japan were still fairly calm. After all, they had been bombed before. The two Atomic Bombs Howard had custom-made were far more powerful than their counterparts in other Parallel Worlds.
So taking another nuclear strike seventy years later almost felt familiar.
Even if they knew a nuclear bomb might land on their heads, what could ordinary people do? All they could do was keep telling themselves it was their American daddy's wrath and hope their government would hurry up and apologize to calm the United States down.
They thought that would keep them safe.
But for one thing, the golden mushroom cloud showed that this bomb was not American. Dr. Haimer did not exist in the 40K Universe. Howard Stark had invented the United States' Atomic Bomb using New Element, and both its flash and mushroom cloud were a brilliant blue.
There were only so many nuclear-armed countries on Earth. Once the United States and China were ruled out, they could consider the remaining possibilities.
Dragging Deadpool along, Su Ming flew to the blast site. Fukushima lay between the Abukuma Highlands to the east and the Ou Mountains to the west. Three roughly north-south mountain ranges divided it into three regions, with rolling terrain, complex volcanic formations, and lakes of every size. It was a beautiful place known for its fruit.
Now, the area around Blast Point looked nothing like its former self.
Vast stretches of forest had vanished. Broken tree stumps stood like rows of gravestones, while animals in the mountain fields lay charred and reeking, wisps of heat rising from their bodies.
From above, the radioactive dust had yet to fully disperse, severely limiting visibility. Only because Su Ming and Little Cousin were immune to Nuclear Radiation could they get this close.
