As stirring music played and the words "Conquest Successful" appeared on-screen, Hela set down the controller with satisfaction.

Daisy had just returned from shopping, squeezing through the door with two large paper bags of alcohol in her arms.

United States regulations required alcoholic beverages to be sold in opaque packaging. You could drink on the street, but the bottle had to stay inside a brown paper bag; otherwise, letting others see it was against the law. It had a distinctly bury-your-head-in-the-sand feel to it.

Selling ten kilograms of gold was somewhat troublesome, but fortunately, she was a Superhero and had gotten to know a few people lately. She went to the Black Market weapons shop the Punisher frequented and exchanged it for US Dollars there.

Hela did not know what kinds of alcohol Earth had. Vanaheim did import Earth liquor, but it was all Skywalker-brand stuff, brewed by Deathstroke's people.

It was not that it tasted bad. At the very least, it came in far more varieties than Asgardian mead. But she had come to Earth for a vacation, and what she wanted was something fresh.

She needed to try things she had never tried before, starting with drinking.

Daisy had been dirt poor in the past. Even if you gave her money, she would not know how to spend it, much less pick good liquor. She had simply taken cash to the supermarket and grabbed all sorts of cheap bottles from the shelves.

There was certainly enough of it. Whether it tasted good was another matter.

"Where's the roast pig?" Hela asked about the drinking snacks as she pulled bottles from the bags.

Thor's eyes turned lifeless. There was no way she could transform and go buy alcohol, was there? Carrying all this stuff had already been difficult enough.
