"Are you a Mutant too?!"

Domino pressed her back against the wall and shouted to Outlaw on the other side of the doorway.

Bullets kept striking the doorframe, spraying chips of concrete. She didn't turn her face away. She didn't even blink.

With her luck, the bullets and debris would miss her anyway.

"Are you?" Inez shifted both pistols into one hand, freeing the other to drag Deadpool back. His entire upper body had been shot away.

She had seen the footage of Deadpool fighting that monster. In it, he had shown an astonishing ability to heal.

Unlike most people, the video hadn't disgusted her. She had found it exciting. She liked things rough.

"Great! All three of us are Mutants, and that gnome just happened to put a Sentinel Robot in his office!" Domino had answered the question indirectly. Of course she was a Mutant, and by her own reckoning, a fairly powerful one.

"We need a plan. What's your ability?" Inez watched Deadpool heal rapidly. He had the outline of a person again, but he wasn't ready to fight, so she turned to Domino for the basics.

Sentinel Robots could analyze an opponent's powers, then develop abilities to counter them. That was how they kept beating Mutants.

By Inez's reasoning, she first needed to know what her allies could do before she could predict how the Sentinel would adapt.

"My superpower is good luck. Really good luck."

As she answered, Domino slipped across the doorway. The Sentinel's gun happened to jam at that very moment, and she made it over without a scratch.

The instant she reached them, another stream of metal tore through the doorway.

The two women stood shoulder to shoulder, with Deadpool writhing in front of them. Outlaw paused. "Good luck counts as a superpower?"
