Few people came here on ordinary days. Garbage overflowed from the dumpsters and covered the ground, while rats of all sizes hunted cockroaches here. The crunching of their chewing never ceased.
The old apartment buildings around them were all dark. Gunshots or screams occasionally rang out from near and far, while police sirens always seemed to be on the distant horizon, fading in and out.
This was Hell's Kitchen, the breeding ground of Chaos, the womb of demons.
At that moment, a shadow was crawling through the filthy alley. A closer look would reveal that this person only had an upper body!
That was right. Though his lower half was still clad in red tights, there was nothing inside the legs. Below his waist was an empty shell. He had crawled out of an apartment building using only his arms, dragging a trail of blood into the alley like some kind of ghost.
