This was a bay in Japan's Kanto Region, named for its proximity to Tokyo. It was a fine natural harbor, with water only around twelve meters deep. Since Yokosuka Port, where the US Forces in Japan were stationed, lay within this bay, the harbor district was also one of Tokyo's most prosperous areas.
Tall buildings lined both sides of the waterway, beautiful ships traveled back and forth across the water, and the broad roads were bustling. Expensive cars and impeccably dressed local elites came and went, while US Forces in Japan soldiers would always whistle amicably at passing schoolgirls during holidays.
Both the Sanno Hotel and Hardy Barracks were nearby, so Su Ming and Gwen, appearing as Westerners, did not stand out much.
