"Do you think Joker has something to do with the Emperor?"
Laurie had taught herself silent communication. After all, she had once imitated the Symbiotes.
The Mercenary's body writhed in the darkness, and he quickly transformed into an utterly ordinary plumber—short and chubby, with a thick mustache over his lips, a little red cap on his head, and a white M on the front.
Even his voice changed, sounding honest and simple, with a hint of comedy to it.
"No. When it comes to playing games with Batwoman, Joker won't share with anyone. But the Emperor may be pushing Joker's 'jokes' from behind the scenes, just like Kang the Conqueror once pushed me. We'll know once we sneak in and take a look. Hide in my shadow first."
"Oh, wait a moment."
Laurie closed her eyes and immediately learned another spell. She then walked before Deathstroke and sank into the ground as though she had merged with it.
"All right."
"Not all right. My shadow still has twin tails. Are you serious?" Su Ming lowered his head with a speechless sigh. Everything else looked normal, but his reflected cap had two braids sticking out to either side.
Who was that supposed to fool? Joker was crazy, not stupid!
"Hm? Oh, give me a second."
Laurie sent an embarrassed message through Strangle. A few seconds later, with a soft pop, the two braids in the shadow vanished.
The moonlight was dim, and dark clouds raced across the sky under the wind's push. Blackest Night was almost here.
Su Ming did not waste any time. In an instant, he appeared outside the manor's iron bars and agilely climbed over the wall.
The most authentic circus atmosphere greeted him the next second.
He jumped into the storage tent of a cotton candy stall.
