"But I still don't quite understand. Why Darkseid?" While Deathstroke and Little Lucky Ape were trading lines back and forth, Diana stepped between them and interrupted their rapid exchange. "I haven't seen any sign of Darkseid on Earth-12. Why are you so certain?"
Detective Chimp sighed, took off his detective hat, and scratched at his black fur. "There are too many clues. I don't even know where to start."
"Mm-hmm, exactly. Little Dai, don't worry about it. Why not let the men handle it?" Harley chimed in from the side. She had an arm around Laurie and Dawn, and both women's ice cream bore her bite marks.
"I won't dump everything on men. You need to explain this clearly." Wonder Woman was very firm. She had no intention of becoming dead weight because she understood nothing, only to get knocked unconscious by a frying pan at a critical moment.
Su Ming smiled and patted her arm. "Fine, I'll explain it to you. It's a bit of a waste of time, but hey, you over there pretending to sleep, come listen too."
Batwoman on the sofa suddenly opened her eyes and slowly sat up. Without saying a word, she walked over to the group.
"Honestly, I told you to learn detective skills, not to learn from Hellblazer."
Deathstroke wordlessly tossed her a cigarette, then considered where to begin.
"So it really was you. At first, I thought the enemy had imitated you." Batwoman spoke in a way many people could not understand, nodded slowly, then skillfully lit the cigarette. As though a weight had been lifted from her heart, she took a deep drag. "I seem to have forgotten to say thank you."
"Don't celebrate too early. Whether what happens next will be good or bad for Earth-12 is still uncertain."
