They stopped the footage of the apes being swept away by the Great Flood and put in a new tape. A brutal battlefield appeared before them.
In this footage, New York City was in ruins. Many massive, fish-shaped Flying Vehicles flew through the sky as the Avengers fought an alien force in the city.
Most conspicuous was the enormous spatial rift in the sky, as though the heavens had been torn open. A steady stream of enemies flew out of it.
The Avengers had a difficult fight at first, but things improved after the God of Thunder and Hulk joined the battle. Deathstroke's attention was not on them, however. He was only watching the rooftop of the New York Sanctum Sanctorum, where a bald woman in yellow robes lay on a deck chair, wearing sunglasses and drinking orange soda.
"At first glance, I thought it was an Annihilation Swarm invasion." Deadpool sidled up to Cousin and spoke in a sleazy tone. He seriously stroked his chin. "But looking closer, these aliens aren't bugs. They can even ride flying scooters. Who are they?"
"Chitauri, Thanos's Minion Legion." Su Ming chuckled, shifting his gaze away from the Ancient One and continuing to watch the other parts of the footage.
Having heard an unfamiliar name, Wade moved the hand that had been scratching his butt to pick his nose, fully demonstrating his confusion. The two white eye patches on his mask narrowed slightly.
"Hold on. Thanos did invade Earth, but his vanguard was his own Black Order. Where did these Chitauri come from? And what's going on with the Ancient One? Didn't she retire and go traveling ages ago?"
