As they chatted, Strangle had already connected to Adjutant and searched the terminal's database, listing what Deathstroke wanted on the screen.
A green cursor blinked and bounced in the lower-right corner of the screen. The color was rather easy on the eyes.
"What is this, Master?"
Magik could not quite make out what the list was about. To her, it was merely a string of incomprehensible model numbers, paired with coordinates and a lengthy, baffling description of functions.
"These are records on the twelve Guardian Deities in the Dark Tower Universe. They were all manufactured by the Northern Central Positronic Group, gods made to guard Parallel Worlds."
Su Ming tapped the keyboard one key at a time, reading through all the information and committing it to memory. As he answered Magik, Adjutant was calculating the coordinate system used by the company.
"Gods? Manufactured ones?" Magik wore the expression of a confused Black man.
"That's right. The Dark Tower emitted six beams of light, and those six beams formed the original six doors. Of course, that is merely the mythological version, and may not be true. In any case, the Positronic Group once made twelve Synthezoid Animals and sent them back through the Timeline to the beginning of Genesis. They were dispatched in pairs to guard those beams of light. They also absorbed the light's energy and thus became Guardian Deities."
Su Ming shut down the terminal, removed its hard drive, and led Magik upstairs in Windmill Tower.
"So they're the Loa Spirits of the Dark Tower Multiverse, except in synthetic mechanical form." Illyana understood now. Casually meddling with Timelines easily led to such problems.
A powerful existence that did not belong to the current Timeline represented disorder and Chaos in itself, from a certain perspective. It also represented infinite possibilities.
