Deadpool, picking his nose as he muttered to empty air, sneezed. After shivering pleasantly a few times, he continued:

"We obviously haven't killed that many Dark Elves, so why do all the targets in the city seem to have vanished as if they smelled something? Are they really that sharp?"

Carol, flying beside Wade while keeping two meters away, covered her nose and answered:

"You do have a smell, but the Dark Elves disappearing has nothing to do with you. They're exceptionally good at stealth and have excellent cloaking equipment. You may not have dealt with them much before, but when I was serving in the Kree Empire, I often saw them raid certain planets and then flee without a trace."

The Dark Elves who had boarded their ships as an entire race produced nothing themselves. Whenever they lacked something, they simply went out and stole it, much like space pirates.

They feared neither the Kree, the Shi'ar, nor the Skrull Empire. They raided border colony worlds, grabbed what they could, and ran. The fleets of the Three Great Empires were built for decisive battles and simply could not catch their Clippers.

The ships of great powers were often heavily armored and packed with fierce firepower, designed to trade volleys with enemies head-on.

The Dark Elves' ships, however, had been designed differently. To carry away as many of their people as possible when they abandoned their homeland, these vessels had almost no armor and no firepower. All their energy went into their engines and cloaking systems.

During raids, their fleets stopped in low orbit and dispatched countless small Flying Boats to land. Once the looting was finished at top speed, everyone returned to the mothership, cloaked themselves, and fled. No victim had ever managed to catch
