Jesse started sprinting with her teammates on her shoulders, while Deathstroke took the opportunity to give them a lesson on some old DC Universe Speed Force lore, as well as how those rules had changed after the N52 era.
Put simply, the Speed Force Plane was a dimension filled with energy, and the source of every speedster's superpowers.
Its essence carried many different, broader influences and conceptual attributes. It was reality in motion, the Cosmic Energy that pushed space and time forward.
It was a highly abstract concept. Most speedsters found it difficult to explain exactly what the Speed Force Plane was. They might see it as a racetrack, a Time Tunnel, the interior of some living creature, or even the manifestation of their stream of consciousness after reaching extreme speed.
Those views might all have been correct, but none of them were complete. Everyone had only seen the tip of the Speed Force Plane's iceberg.
But none of that had much to do with Su Ming. He had his own, more convenient way of understanding the Speed Force Plane: he saw it as a gigantic clock face.
If all universes containing the Speed Force were regarded as a whole, then that whole ought to be spherical. After all, whether it was the multiverse or the Megaverse, simplified forms that humans could understand were always structured like nested balls, one large sphere enclosing smaller ones.
The Speed Force Plane was then a ring-shaped clock face wrapped around the shell of that great sphere. Run clockwise and, once one reached a certain speed, one could travel to a particular future. Likewise, run counterclockwise and, upon reaching a certain speed, one could return to a particular past.
Imagining some hour marks on that clock face made the intelligence Jay had provided easier
