"What should we do next?"
Rain fell. Diana's Cloak had been blessed with divine power, so not a single drop clung to it. Beads of water rolled rapidly across its surface like pearls as she bit her lip.
"If we're going to find Grail, let me talk to her first. Unless there's no other choice, don't make a move, all right?"
Deathstroke merely shook his head. Just as Little Dai thought he intended to kill Grail, he said:
"I never planned to look for her. That was Batwoman's plan, and it had already failed long ago. Going after Grail again would just mean repeating the mistakes Batwoman made on some Timeline. I have my own way."
Based on his guesses and deductions, Su Ming had roughly reconstructed a Timeline that might once have happened.
Today, the first team had been pursued by Uncle Darkseid in the Speed Force Plane. They found the Main Timeline of the current world and hid in that Timeline's past.
In other words, they had gone back in time.
Then Batwoman had probably remembered the so-called prophecy of the three goddesses and decided to use Grail to destroy Darkseid.
Perhaps through the Martian Manhunter's Psionic Power, he had copied his Gotham asylum rules into Grail's mind, creating the Goddess Law of today.
He had probably intended to strike at the concept of "ending," using Grail to create a "New Gods origin"—in other words, Alpha, or the "Way of Transcendence" where the new wave pushed the old wave forward, letting the daughter shove her father to his death on the beach.
It was a good plan, but Batman's intelligence had been incomplete. Apparently, he had not known that Darkseid possessed the Book of Destiny, nor what that book could actually do.
In short, Grail had been useless.
