The Hand of the Void had been driven off for the time being—or rather, according to his plan, he needed to make it look like he had been driven off.
But none of that mattered. If he wanted to pull something on Su Ming, he would have to wait for another opportunity. He had nothing else if not patience.
As for Su Ming, he was in no hurry either. The technology capable of dealing with the Hand of the Void was most likely in the hands of the Constructors or the Beyonders, and he had to get it first.
Conventional methods could not kill the Hand of the Void, nor could they even stop him from fleeing. It felt a little like arguing with someone on an online forum in his previous life, cursing them to bloody hell, only for them to delete their account and change their name, leaving him unable to find them.
So what he needed was a way to punch someone through the "network cable."

The extension phone not far from the pool rang. Strangle stretched out a long tentacle and answered it. Just as expected, it was the Black general calling.
He said they had killed three Kaiju today, and the corpses would soon be hauled back. He wanted to trade for several new units, but one of the monsters had suddenly mutated before it died, and he hoped that would not damage its trade value.
Su Ming generously said it would not. Carbon-based mushrooms growing from a Silicon-based Lifeform were actually more valuable for research, so he was even willing to trade the general some more user-friendly mechs.
The corpse of that Leatherback was worth a hundred Iron Balls.
No real man would dare pilot an iron ball. It looked like nothing
