Peter still refused to give up. He followed Deathstroke into the laboratory, not offering to help search for clues, but asking again:
"Sir, do you think my parents might have faked their deaths too?"
After discovering that Tony's parents had faked their deaths as part of an act, Peter could not help having such thoughts. Although he had never met his parents and did not even have a single photograph of them, as an orphan, there was always this knot in his heart.
What if they really were alive? Even if they could not meet, he would feel better inside.
"Howard and his wife faked their deaths because he and I arranged it together to test Tony. Tony has passed the test now."
While having Strangle search the place, Su Ming took out a bottle of soda and drank from it. He did not need to work himself; the Symbiotes would handle everything:
"But your parents really died. Hydra agents used a Sonic Gun to blast them into boneless meat paste—the utterly dead kind. Oh, right, this was the gun. The plane they were on crashed into my mountain back then, and I only had time to recover their belongings."
As he spoke, Su Ming even pulled the weapon from his belt pouch. Peter's parents had not actually died quite so horribly back then, but a darker description would help accelerate Peter's growth.
So far, Little Bug had not seen many dead people. A truly strong person could not be raised in a warm, sheltered city.
Unfortunately, Peter had no desire to look at the weapon that had killed his parents. His clever mind gave him more than enough imagination, and merely thinking about his parents being turned into meat paste sent him rushing outside to vomit.
