Before sending Tony to repair the equipment, Su Ming had already had the Adjutant check the satellite surveillance. There was no record of Charles or Hank leaving the building. They seemed to have vanished into thin air, their whereabouts unknown.
Since they definitely had not run into the Speed Force, they had most likely teleported or undergone Phase Shift. To find them, they would have to use either magic or brainwaves.
Magic was out of the question. With Ororo's half-baked skills, there was no way she knew Person-Finding Magic. All she knew was how to wreck things.
And the Brainwave Amplifier was right here, as was the White Queen. Why not use them?
If the unknown enemy temporarily dubbed the "Water Monkey" had only abducted Charles, then the Brainwave Amplifier might not have been able to find him. The little bald man had a trick that let his Mental Power leave his body, and he could even possess another corpse and come back to life. Searching for him would be pointless.
But since the enemy had taken Hank as well, he would be much easier to find. Once they used the equipment, it would be a simple matter for the White Queen to locate his brainwaves.
As long as the two missing men were together, the matter would be solved. Su Ming would go rescue them, kill the Water Monkey, and the operation would be over.
