Kwaku Anansi was undoubtedly a freak, a stitched-together monstrosity that looked as though the organs of various animals had been sewn together. He was also intersex.
However, few had seen his true form, and the vast majority of them were dead. After all, he was a standard Voodoo Evil God thrill-seeker, and nothing pleased him more than tormenting black people until they begged for death but could not die.
His statues could be found in many places across Africa, and Witch Doctors and Shamans worshipped him as well. Ordinary benevolent gods or gods of Order did not mind if they went hungry for a few meals or if people forgot a festival of worship. Good gods did not get angry.
But evil gods like Kwaku Anansi were the ones nobody could afford to offend. Forget to worship him on one of his festivals, and he would have your entire village die of plague that very day.
That was already the easiest way to die. He could also turn people into Voodoo Zombies, leaving them lucid but unable to control their bodies. They could only watch helplessly as they fought dung beetles for zebra droppings on the African savanna, until they were literally stuffed to death.
His statues could be seen throughout Africa, but when presented to the public, he called himself the Rain God. He took the form of a large green frog, even the somewhat cute kind.
It seemed he knew that asking humans to worship his true form was asking rather a lot.
The last historical record of his appearance had been several centuries ago, when he helped colonizers traffic African slaves in exchange for gold.
As an ancient god, gold was useless to him. So it was highly likely that Shadow King had already controlled him by
