The Celestials caught in the wave of tentacles all froze. The glowing grids on their heads flickered erratically, while their limbs twitched in small, irregular spasms—commonly known as having the shakes.
Su Ming knew Deadpool's mind was a mess. Reading his thoughts often amounted to suicide, which was why they had come up with this plan.
The Celestials had no ability to read minds, but that did not matter. The Old Ones did.
They summoned the Old Ones' servants through the Lovecraft Manuscript and had them alter Wade's body. Then, through Little Guy's power, Deadpool's transformed limbs could overlap with the Celestials, creating a spatial intersection.
Finally, Wade used the gems to actively lure their minds in.
His cousin turned into a ball of flesh, like the central point of a vast web of blood and meat. The sphere wriggled at a nauseating frequency, carrying a peculiar rhythm. Translated into Morse code, it seemed to mean, "Come play, big brothers."
Deathstroke did not know what the outcome would be. For now, all he could do was wait.
He landed on Celestial Destroyer's shoulder and spoke up to stop him from grabbing an enemy and beating it senseless.
"Leave this area first, Celestial. Do not let anger cloud your judgment."
Celestial Destroyer truly showed signs of losing control. Too many Black Celestials had died at the hands of the Colored faction, and he shared a blood-deep hatred with these former brothers before him.
Strictly speaking, though, Celestials had no blood at all.
"I... understand."
Breaker slowly lowered his raised fist, tossed aside the enemy whose arm he had torn off with his other hand, and answered Deathstroke with difficulty.
He knew the human was reminding him to conserve energy. Once the Final Host appeared, only he could confront it head-on.
