The mission was simple: find the remnants of the Court of Owls in Blüdhaven, obtain the Hunting Blade from them, then deliver it to a set of coordinates on the high seas.
The employer looked like Deathstroke and spoke like Deathstroke. On top of that, he had followed the rules and paid a thirty-percent deposit in advance, so Talia had not thought much of it and accepted the job.
Times had changed. In the past, League of Assassins agents met people in bars and sewers who needed killers. Now, it was the era of Internet-plus-assassins.
The mission had not gone especially smoothly, but it had not been difficult either. Although the number of Talons had exceeded expectations, the League of Assassins' personnel were clearly more elite.
If Deathstroke had not interfered, Talia would have had a way to leave safely and complete the transaction with the item her employer wanted.
Su Ming learned the transaction coordinates from her and promised that if they killed the fake Deathstroke, Talia could keep the remaining payment in his possession. He then ordered Adjutant to scan the sea and investigate the communications network, which would take some time.
