Faith was poisonous, and these people were addicts. As long as he controlled their "supply channel," they could be manipulated quite effectively and put to his own use.
Cooperation could benefit both sides. The Sorcerer Supreme had a way to help them circumvent the oath they had once made to the Celestials.
Other Eternals, however, had no intention of bowing their heads to humanity.
They had been awakened from ancient tombs or beneath the earth, accepted the Colorful Celestials' mission to purge humanity, and gained a tremendous boost in confidence after receiving the Celestials' support. They intended to test themselves against humanity's strongest representative—Deathstroke.
The Death Seed had most likely been given to the Eternals by the Colorful Celestials.
That was understandable. These Eternals had slept for hundreds of thousands of years. After waking up, their fellow kind told them that times on Earth had changed.
