Star-Lord had been busy chatting with Yondu and had not noticed that someone was missing from the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now that the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had left, there were suddenly fewer people blocking his view. Only then did he realize that Gamora was gone.
He immediately raised his hand to ask a question, but Deathstroke saw through his intentions. Before he could speak, he used The Force to haul Gamora, Nebula, and Drax back and set them on the ground in front of Star-Lord.
Just as the latter was about to ask why the three of them had fallen unconscious, Deathstroke spoke first:
"They wouldn't behave, so Thanos spanked them for me."

The Adjutant's voice rang out. A flash of blue light later, everyone vanished. They would meet again when it was time to settle the bill anyway.
