"Wade, have you noticed anything strange?"
The pitch-black Batmobile sped down streets full of standing water. Neon lights outside flashed past like streaks of light, occasionally illuminating Batwoman's face.
"I have. I noticed Gotham's homeless people are way too rich. It's making me want to rob them."
Deadpool answered with his hands raised in surrender and his face pressed against the Batmobile's window. He was currently on the way to get a late-night meal with Batwoman.
Batman had said earlier that she would treat Wade to a meal once they got back. Though Deadpool had eaten a little at Cousin's place, Thanos had forced it down his throat. He had not even had time to chew, let alone taste it!
What he was talking about was what he had just spotted by the roadside. A homeless man had crawled out of his cardboard house in an alley in the middle of the night, clutching a huge pile of cash as he sang and danced with delight.
Wade could tell that those green bills were genuine. There was probably around a million US Dollars' worth, and that was exactly what struck him as strange.
If it had been a well-dressed, mysterious person dancing in the rain at midnight with a million US Dollars, that would have been understandable.
But the money was in a homeless man's hands. The man was filthy, stank, and was ugly. His hair was matted together, and even the crusted grime on his body had cracked in the rain. He clearly did not look like someone who should have that much money.
As Batwoman drove, she used facial recognition to investigate the homeless man's background. Within seconds, she had dug up everything about his family for eighteen generations.
After one glance, he committed it all to memory
