Xivandis Shadowsong was a somewhat unfamiliar name to many. She had no entry at all in Warcraft Chronicle, nor was she some super powerhouse capable of reshaping the world. At least compared to faction leaders like Yrel and Jaina, who could influence an entire race, she was hardly worth mentioning.

Back when they played World of Warcraft in his previous life, this female Druid had always appeared at the side of the protagonist played by the players, in ways they themselves might not even have noticed.
She had taken part in the offensives against Molten Core, Ahn'Qiraj, Naxxramas, Black Temple, Tempest Keep, Icecrown Citadel, Ulduar, Wyrmrest Temple, and a whole series of other campaigns.
Maybe players had not noticed her while playing, but whenever they knew that in the background of one of those battlefields, there was a Night Elf Druid either selling medical supplies in the camp or hurling Starfire and Wrath spells amid the crowds on the battlefield, constantly killing enemies, that was her.
By the Warlords of Draenor expansion, Xivandis Shadowsong had joined the commander's garrison and officially become one of the people at his side.
When assigning missions at the command table for resources and gold, players might not have noticed who they were sending out, but she had followed them all the way from Warlords of Draenor through Legion.
She apparently had not gone to the Shadow Realm, since she had stayed behind on Darkshore to kill Horde members. But after the player characters returned to Azeroth, she would very likely have followed the players to the Dragon Isles once more and continued fighting for the Alliance.
Compared to the faction leaders, she was indeed inconspicuous, but
