Shifting the Conflict

Deadpool was crazy, not stupid. His mind was actually pretty sharp.

Given that this was his Amusement Park, and with the Plot Continuity Gem in play, if he said he could conjure a Chemical Plant out of thin air, then he would make it happen.

Not enough materials? Tear down a few rides. Construction wasn't fast enough? Use The Flash.

So, roughly five seconds after the conversation ended, a modern, cartoon-style Chemical Plant appeared at the end of the road, right beside the dart booth with the fat-man balloons.

It was even bigger than Gotham's ACE Chemical Plant, comparable to the shipyard Cousin had built on Mars. From outside, they could see its enormous tanks towering into the clouds, along with gigantic smokestacks constantly belching black smoke.

"Why is the Chemical Plant called that?" Barry wiped away some sweat. He had just helped finish half the workshops and was only now able to take a break.

When he looked up, he saw a line spray-painted onto the factory wall—"Deadpool's Chocolate Factory."

"Oh, that? Just as you can see, dear little Flash." Wade tossed aside the spray can, rubbed his palms together, and gave everyone a faint smile. "You spend more time hanging around Slade, but that guy doesn't have my boundless sense of humor. It's a joke, you see. Why not let the team's king of jokes explain it to you?"

The so-called king of jokes was Batwoman. She had spent years trading barbs with Joker and had heard who knew how many jokes, so she ought to understand where the Punchline was.

Yet she had no sense of humor whatsoever, much less any interest in explaining a joke. She simply strode toward the factory doors, pushed one open, and slipped inside, vanishing behind the pitch-black entrance.

"I get it!"
