This thing looked like a train, and it also looked like a subway, but that was only its appearance. Its underlying logic was more like magical cross-dimensional transportation, except it was incredibly slow.
Of course, incredibly slow here was relative to other forms of Space Teleportation. This old steam train was actually about as fast as Superman, which was decent enough.
As the train traveled along, the skeletons lying atop the carriages as decorations began singing a cheerful little tune. Their head-bobbing was quite adorable, and when the turning wheels scraped against the rusty tracks, they sprayed not sparks, but all kinds of candy.
"Awesome!" Harley stuck her upper body out the carriage window. The fierce wind sent her twin ponytails flying high as she reached up to high-five the skeletons on the roof. "The little train is so much fun! It just has fewer attractions than the Gotham Subway, hahahahaha!"
The Gotham Subway was also a great place to visit. Anyone who went to that city had to try it, since there was plenty of entertainment to enjoy during the morning and evening commute.
For example, terrorists installing bombs in the carriage; Batwoman and villains suddenly crashing through the windows and falling inside; someone abruptly mutating into a monster in the carriage; or two energetic social groups passionately exchanging heavy weapons fire inside the carriage.
Whenever you were bored and did not know what to do, taking the subway in Gotham would never disappoint.
Compared to that, this train was far too quiet. With only Harley and Hermione as passengers, it felt a little deserted.
