Mushroom Head Zombies were the lowest-ranking minions in the Hand of the Void's forces, and their numbers were unimaginably vast. If that huge shadow had one quadrillion troops, then more than nine hundred ninety trillion of them were probably these things.
These people, whose heads had been replaced by twisted "flesh mushrooms," each looked as though they had blossomed. They were true cannon fodder. Aside from a slight Healing Factor, their individual combat ability was nothing worth mentioning. They relied entirely on their numbers to win.
Deathstroke also used the "Stitched Monster" virus to create zombies as cannon fodder, but even ordinary little zombies were somewhat stronger than these Mushroom Head Zombies, not to mention those special infected with superpowers.
Yet this cannon fodder had its uses. Everything existed for a reason. Their performance in other areas might have been unremarkable, but as a type within the broader zombie category, their infectious capabilities were exceptionally superior.
Besides biting and scratching directly, their mushroom heads could release a special kind of spore. Any creature that inhaled those spores would be infected, undergo uncontrollable mutation, and become one of the Evil Thought Nobles.
Of course, second-generation infected were cannon fodder among cannon fodder. Even among Mushroom Head Zombies, the ones growing here in Multiverse 2 were the strongest. After all, this was the Hand of the Void's territory; even this corrupted world stood on their side.
However, crouching amid the city's remains, filled with building rubble and unidentified flesh tumors, Deadpool did not strike immediately. There were simply too many Mushroom Head Zombies wandering the streets, and that gave him a case of choice paralysis instead.
