The green light instantly receded, and the world returned to its fluorescent blue palette. Deathstroke lightly clenched his fist, and the enormous book slammed shut.

Yet faced with his teammates' expectant gazes nearby, he did not speak right away. Instead, he pinched his chin and stood there thinking for a moment, as though savoring something.

His gaze shifted to the Record Keeper hanging in midair nearby. The burning Flaming Skull was looking at him as well. Neither said anything; they simply met each other's eyes calmly.

"Well? Slade, did you find anything?" Monark was still the first to approach. Somewhat worried, he reached out and poked Deathstroke's arm. Only after discovering that he would not be shocked or bitten did he relax and continue, "What exactly happened? Say something already."
