The Leopard God had it pretty good. The entire nation of Wakanda worshipped it every day, and it did not have to manage anything, because the country had once been isolated from the rest of the world.
It lived on the vast purple plain with a group of little leopards. Every day, it either sprawled on a branch and slept or went out for a stroll to visit neighbors. It enjoyed itself immensely and seemed to have no worries at all.
Among all the Animal Ancient Gods, it might have had the best life. That was probably the benefit of choosing the right side back then. For a leopard to seek refuge with a bird—that was a choice requiring great wisdom. Other felines would probably only want to catch and eat a bird when they saw one, right?
"These... souls are strange." The kitten draped over Deathstroke's shoulder spoke as it watched the generations of Black Panthers eating. "Their souls were originally human, but they have now become leopards, turned into felines. This is the first time I have seen anything like this."
"The Leopard God is one of the old guard among the Ancient Gods. It is very powerful and has some standing even with Death in our universe. That is why it intercepted the souls of these past Wakandan kings and remade them into its own dependents. It is not hard to understand."
Su Ming answered the cat quietly. Judging by the curiosity in its eyes, it clearly wanted an answer.
"Dependents... how nice." The kitten propped its chin on its paws, and its expression shifted into yearning again. "Only human dreams can have dependents. We cannot. I suddenly feel so lonely."
Everything that appeared in the Dreaming, whether flowers, birds, fish, insects, beasts, or animals, was essentially
