While slashing zombies apart with two Katanas, Deadpool rapped as he complained at high speed to Cable beside him about the belt malfunction.
He had wanted to return to 40K, but something seemed to have gone wrong with the teleportation. He had ended up in the Zombie Universe of 40K-1 instead, and had landed right in the middle of a horde of zombies in some unknown location.
Fortunately, Deadpool smelled even worse than the rotting zombies, so they had not attacked him immediately. Cable beside him was different. He was huge, which naturally meant he had plenty of flesh on him. In the zombies' eyes, he was probably a delicious treat.
As teammates, Deadpool would not abandon Cable. The pressure was not too great, really. It was just that the road was packed tight, making escape difficult.
This was 40K-1, an experimental world his cousin used to allow the Stitched Monster Virus to evolve on its own. Seventy percent of this Earth's landmass was controlled by zombie hordes. Survivors generally lived on islands or large ships, struggling to survive in city-states.
But there was good news as well. There would be no high-level special infected here. Once a little zombie underwent an advanced evolution, the Adjutant would seize it from afar and take it to Kaecilius for research.
So this place was kind of like a bacterial culture dish? Or perhaps a jar for cultivating poisonous insects?
Wade was actually somewhat relieved. Thankfully, he had fallen into 40K-1 instead of neighboring 40K-2.
