Time Fragmentation

Searching the ruins of New York yielded nothing besides some strange insects and aggressive beasts.

No one knew how long it had been since the disaster struck. Much of the place had completely weathered into dust, leaving only the broken remnants of civilization, which let out a sobbing wail in the fierce wind.

Fortunately, it was slightly cooler inside the ruins. After just a few minutes under the sun, the two of them had nearly been baked dry.

"Earth is no longer fit for human habitation. Even if the war didn't kill them, the climate would." Zheng Xian tugged at his tie and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Su Ming sat on the floor and nodded slightly. "That means the nuclear war happened not far from our original Time Point. At the very least, humanity never found a way to deal with Nuclear Winter. After that, Earth became a wasteland."

Zheng Xian fell silent for a moment. "Brother, can't you use the Eye of Agamotto? Maybe it can show us what we should do now?"

"Everything comes at a price. It isn't time to pay that price yet. There's no point in using it to reverse our time. This is an independent Time Point. Don't forget how we got here. My ability to reverse time requires a continuous Timeline, but we skipped at least several centuries in between. Using the gem would only send us back to the moment we arrived here."

Zheng Xian sat beside him helplessly, pounding his own shoulder. "Fine, then what do we do next? Your so-called base has turned into a huge crater. Obviously, nothing was left behind."
