While the three of them stood there in a daze, several soldiers came around the edge of the distant plaza. They had no weapons in their hands, only liquor bottles, and came staggering over with their arms around each other's shoulders.
"Buurp... Why are there three people standing in that pit?" One flushed soldier shook his head, thinking his eyes were playing tricks on him.
Everyone had gone to celebrate the Celestial's destruction. Who would stand around striking poses in the ruins for no reason?
"Probably... probably three idiots."
"Yeah, d-don't mind them. Let's go to the next bar."
"Drink! Hahaha!"
As they talked, they began guzzling liquor on the spot, alcohol running down from the corners of their mouths and soaking the fronts of their uniforms.
Their armor was gold and silver, matching the traits Michelangelo had described in his prophecy. Tesla recognized them at a glance.
But what was going on now? He had hoped to avoid a scene of mutual slaughter and rivers of blood, but what was this absurdly close, harmonious scene between the two sides?
Even as the Lord of Lightning, Tesla's brain was about to overload. He could not make sense of it, no matter how he tried. There was seriously something wrong with this Timeline.
Howard was more straightforward than Tesla. Since they did not know what was happening, they could just ask someone who did.
Ignoring the drunkards' looks as though they were staring at an idiot, he strode over. If anyone in the Brotherhood of the Shield had the thickest skin, Howard would definitely rank first.
