The villain in the lab coat was quite conspicuous under the lights, not only because the coat reflected the light, but because his head did too.

This fellow with a somewhat misshapen skull had a head like an egg—smooth, long, and oval. His pale face bore two incredibly flamboyant little mustaches, the old-fashioned kind that curled upward at both ends.

He wore his monocle as he let out frantic, bizarre laughter, carrying out incomprehensible operations on a control console filled with secondhand sci-fi aesthetics.

Besides him and the machinery, there was also a huge egg on the rooftop. That was right, a giant egg over four meters tall and wide enough to take several people to embrace, its shell painted with a rainbow.

After the strange scientist fiddled with it for a while, the nearby machinery fired arcs of electricity at the shell. The egg lit up like a lightbulb, and Gotham City gained a new lighthouse.

If this were a cartoon, Batwoman believed several black lines would already be hanging over her head. She remembered this villain vividly.

Edgar Heed, codenamed Doctor Egghead, was a mentally unstable biologist, physicist, and frequent resident of Arkham.

How should she put it? Even Batwoman could not find a fitting word to describe Egghead's past exploits. The closest would probably be... "colorful."

Egghead was the sort of unlucky fool who could never accomplish anything he set out to do. Every time, he placed enormous hopes on his inventions, expecting a new creation to defeat Batwoman so he could rule the world.

Yet every time, he came just a little short of success. Batwoman always had an especially difficult time dealing with him and his inventions—far, far harder than dealing with Joker.
