Across the streets and up in the sky, countless ferocious and terrifying anomalous entities stood crowded together. Looking as far as the eye could see, they were dense, covering the heavens and earth, stretching endlessly beyond the horizon.
It felt as though this were a world of anomalies, and humanity was the outsider.
Humanoid entities wrapped entirely in black shadows and lacking facial features walked the avenue.
A headless giant capable of rivaling skyscrapers strode between the buildings.
A blood-soaked figure with its skin entirely stripped away floated beneath a giant, eyeless head suspended in midair, its neck connecting to countless scarlet tentacles. There were also countless entities of various shapes, with deformed bodies and vicious faces resembling evil ghosts, drifting aimlessly like dandelions.
Yet these anomalies were not even on the same level as those hovering above the dome of the sky.
High above the dome, a pair of massive, pristine white wings blotted out the sun. The wings were so pure they looked sacred, resembling those of an angel.
However, this pair of wings was attached to a single, giant eye covered in bloodshot veins and fleshy tumors.
That solitary eye seemed even larger than the sun, radiating an eerie red light that felt oppressive, taboo, and ominous.
In the distant sky also stood a bride dressed in red wedding robes, a large character for double happiness embroidered across her chest. Her slender figure stood upright as she neatly crossed her fair hands in front of her.
That sounded normal enough, yet this bride possessed the head of a rabbit!
The fur on the rabbit's head was a pristine white without a single speck of other color, and its eyes were as scarlet as blood, resembling a pair of rubies. An anthropomorphic smile hung upon its face.
Bizarre, utterly bizarre.
Despite clearly having a rabbit's head, it gave one the impression of an ancient young lady of a noble family, as if she truly were an exceptionally graceful and beautiful bride.
Aside from these two, there were other anomalies that were even more deformed and beyond description.
A grayish-white, slippery giant form grew dense clusters of eyeballs all over its body. Those eyeballs constantly burst like bubbles, and once shattered, new ones would sprout anew from the flesh, repeating in an endless cycle.
A Buddha head that was pitch-black throughout and possessed a solemn, precious appearance, yet whose crown was covered in lumps of flesh.
Formless, substance-free black mist within which countless human faces shrieked.
A massive, eerie mud idol.
Every single one of them was deeply taboo, terrifying, and incomprehensible.
These anomalous presences above the dome formed a scene of immense visual impact. Their bodies seemed to constantly radiate countless unspeakable, incomprehensible messages filled with filth yet entirely real, and these twisted messages continuously battered Fang Xiu's soul.
At that moment, it felt as though he were hearing countless whispered utterances filled with evil and depravity. Those were not sounds humans could produce, and every single word contained enough pollution to drive a person mad.
Had it been the old Fang Xiu, a mere glance would likely have caused him to collapse.
Yet this Fang Xiu had already died eighteen times, having been eaten alive on eighteen occasions. If souls truly existed, his soul had long since been twisted beyond recognition by death, madness, and hatred.
Terrifying though these anomalies were, they were not enough to cause his mind to collapse; instead, they made his soul even more twisted and frantic. Or perhaps one could say his mind had always been in a state of collapse, and these mental corruptions acted more like a baptism to him.
"Heh... Haha..."
"Hahahahaha..."
Fang Xiu suddenly began to laugh uncontrollably, except his laughter was intensely twisted and stifled, sounding as though it were forcibly squeezed out from his throat, making one's hair stand on end.
For some reason, seeing the world full of anomalies made him want to laugh, an unstoppable laughter.
He did not want anomalies to discover anything amiss, so he covered his mouth, but the twisted laughter still stubbornly spilled out from between his fingers.
Thus, he could only lower his head, his pale face obscured by the falling shadows, yet that failed to conceal his blazing, frantic gaze.
"Interesting... This world is simply too interesting! Hahaha..."
"Cough, cough..."
The intense mirth caused him to cough uncontrollably. Yet the more he coughed, the more violent his laughter became, to the point that his coughing grew increasingly severe as well, even triggering dry heaves.
"Uncle, what's wrong with you? Are you sick?"
A little girl intruded into Fang Xiu's line of sight.
She was a little girl around four or five years old, wearing twin pigtails and eating a lollipop.
Seeing the little girl appear, he did not seem surprised. Based on the memories of his predecessor, he knew this world appeared completely normal on the surface; people lived ordinary lives, going to school, working, marrying, and having children.
It seemed as though everyone was entirely oblivious to the existence of these anomalies.
Therefore, the appearance of a little girl within the residential complex was completely normal.
He tried his best to rein in his laughter, making himself look somewhat genial.
"I'm fine, little sister. Also, you should call me older brother."
Fang Xiu reached out his hand, wanting to pat the little head of the cute little girl before him. Once upon a time, he had also fantasized about having a cute daughter in the future.
However, the little girl's next sentence caused his hand to freeze dead in midair.
"You can see me!"
The innocence on the little girl's face vanished in an instant, revealing a depressed, frantic joy identical to that of the bride.
Fang Xiu was slightly stunned, and then once more burst into uncontrollable, wild laughter.
"Hahaha... Interesting! Truly too interesting."
This time he laughed to the point of producing tears.
Slap!
He pressed his hand heavily onto the little girl's head, forcefully ruffling her hair.
Yet the next moment, his hand was batted away.
For the little girl was expanding wildly at a visible rate. Her originally short stature swelled like a blowing balloon, and countless streams of scarlet flesh burst forth, continuously squeezing out from within her body.
In the blink of an eye, the innocent and cute little girl transformed into a flesh anomaly over two meters tall, resembling a mountain of meat composed of countless exposed tissues covered in a dense web of blood vessels.
Her two pigtails turned into a pair of thick, pitch-black horns, and the lollipop in her hand transformed into a white bone club, seemingly fashioned from the thigh bone of some unknown creature.
"You can see me!!"
The little girl roared frantically.
Fang Xiu looked at her with a laugh, the light flashing in his eyes seeming even madder than the anomaly before him.
"Compared to how you looked before, I actually prefer you like this. Because... this way I won't have any burdens when I kill you later."
Roaring, the little girl raised the taller-than-human bone club in her grip, and the shadow cast by the descending club completely enveloped Fang Xiu, resembling the shadow of death itself.
Yet Fang Xiu continued to laugh: "Now I finally understand why I want to laugh. It's because anomalies like you are simply too numerous-so many that it excites me! So many that I don't have to worry about running out of things to kill in the future!
Hahaha... All of you... must... die!!!"
Bang!
The bone club smashed heavily downward, and Fang Xiu was directly pounded into a pulp of flesh.
