Xiao Tian secretly taught Nezha to cultivate before his birth, then traveled back in time and reincarnated as Yang Tianyou to meet Yaoji. After recovering his memories on their wedding night, he realized Yang Jian’s birth had been engineered as part of an ancient scheme tied to the Investiture of the Gods.
Xiao Tian lived as Yang Tianyou, married Yaoji, and secretly trained their three children while preparing them for the coming Investiture of the Gods. When Yaoji went after the three-headed flood dragon, Xiao Tian gathered the children and confronted Yang Jiao about his reckless focus on fighting.
Xiao Tian prepared his family for the Heavenly Court’s coming attack, assigning his children opponents and giving them powerful treasures. Yaoji remained away hunting the Three-Headed Flood Dragon, while Xiao Tian’s family awaited the heavenly forces.
After Yaoji returned from pursuing the Three-Headed Flood Dragon, the Jade Emperor ordered her arrest for marrying a mortal and bearing his children. As heavenly soldiers approached, Xiao Tian revealed that he had reached the perfection of the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm.
Xiao Tian and Yaoji intercepted the heavenly army above the sea of clouds, where Marshal Tianpeng and General Juanlian confronted them under the Jade Emperor’s orders. As the confrontation began, Xiao Tian assessed the generals’ hidden origins and reflected on the Jade Emperor’s alleged scheme against Marshal Tianpeng.
The Jade Emperor sent Marshal Tianpeng, General Juanlian, and heavenly troops to arrest Yaoji and her family after her forbidden relationship was exposed. Xiao Tian refused to surrender, and the battle began with Yang Jiao fighting the advancing soldiers.
Xiao Tian and Yaoji’s family fought the Heavenly Court’s forces, with Xiao Tian overpowering Marshal Tianpeng while Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan held off the other attackers. The battle ended with Marshal Tianpeng badly wounded and retreating alongside General Juanlian, leaving the Jade Emperor’s attempt to capture Yaoji in disarray.
Xiao Tian and his family returned home after repelling the Heavenly Court’s forces, where Yaoji revealed her identity as the Jade Emperor’s sister and they discussed the consequences of their defiance. Xiao Tian proposed that Yang Jian become Perfected Jade Cauldron’s disciple as a way to break the deadlock, while the Jade Emperor waited for news in Lingxiao Palace.
Xiao Tian faked the deaths of Yang Tianyou and Yang Jiao, hid Yaoji, and set his family on paths that would bring them into the coming Investiture of the Gods Calamity. Ten years later, Yang Jian and Yang Chan had found their masters, Xiao Tian had become Jiang Shang, and the birth of Nezha marked the start of his new plans as the calamity gathered force.
Nezha was born with Xiao Tian’s teachings and protections already shaping his fate, and Perfected Person Taiyi arrived to claim him as a disciple. His parents asked to keep him at home, so Taiyi agreed to return in seven years, while Xiao Tian planned to prevent the disaster that had once awaited Nezha.
Xiao Tian took the newborn Lei Zhenzi and educated him for thirty years in a dream, warning him not to eat Immortal Apricots before reaching the Golden Immortal realm. When Yun Zhongzi arrived to take Lei Zhenzi as his disciple, Xiao Tian introduced himself as Jiang Ziya and claimed the boy as his son.
Xiao Tian met Yun Zhongzi, who recognized him as Primordial Heavenly Venerable’s new disciple and took Lei Zhenzi as his own. After Ji Chang left, Xiao Tian continued cultivating and began training Wu Ji through dreams, while planning to keep Zhao Gongming out of the coming calamity.
Xiao Tian cured Xiqi’s army, helped Ji Fa defeat Chong Houhu, and entered seclusion to strengthen himself for the Investiture of the Gods Calamity. His breakthrough let him capture imprints of Ancestral Dragon, Primordial Phoenix, and Primordial Qilin, revealing their ancient war and the calamity that followed.
After emerging from half a year of secluded cultivation, Xiao Tian learned that Yang Jian and Yang Chan had joined Xiqi and watched as the battle against the Four Generals of the Mo Family began. Yang Jian and Nezha protected their allies from the generals’ powerful treasures, while Xiao Tian remained away with Yaoji, and his children still did not know where he had taken her and Yang Jiao.
Yang Chan’s Lotus Lantern protected Xiqi’s forces while Yellow Heaven Hua returned with the Heart-Piercing Nail and helped defeat the Four Generals of the Mo Family and Tu Xingsun. With Shang’s army routed, King Zhou ordered Deng Jiugong to suppress Xiqi’s rebellion, and Xiao Tian considered a possible match between Deng Chanyu and one of his unmarried companions.
After Deng Chanyu was captured, Xiao Tian arranged her marriage to Yang Jian, while Xiqi’s army advanced toward Sishui Pass and defeated Crown Prince Yin Jiao. Lü Yue then tried to plague Xiqi’s forces, but Xiao Tian redirected the sickness to Zhaoge’s army and sent Nezha to summon Daoist Cihang to counter the next attack.
Xiao Tian prepared to counter Lü Yue’s plague magic, then the conflict at Golden Rooster Ridge escalated as Luo Xuan and Liu Huan joined the opposing side. The chapter ended with Xiao Tian fighting Luo Xuan, who unleashed his fire treasures and a swarm of powerful Fire Crows.
Long Ji helped Xiao Tian's forces defeat Liu Huan and Luo Xuan, but Xiao Tian withdrew rather than attack Kong Xuan at Golden Rooster Ridge. That night, Xiao Tian entered Kong Xuan's dream, proved his power by countering the Five-Colored Divine Light, and persuaded Kong Xuan to go with him.
Xiao Tian and Kong Xuan traveled to Emei Mountain to capture Zhao Gongming alive and keep him from joining King Zhou’s forces. After knocking him unconscious and sealing him inside a gourd, they left a notice at his cave and departed.
Xiao Tian captured Hong Jin and arranged for Lei Zhenzi to marry Fire Spirit Holy Mother, while Xiqi's army continued its advance through Jiameng Pass. The chapter left Nezha and Princess Longji facing Qiu Yin and the Hum and Ha Generals at Azure Dragon Pass.
Nezha and Princess Longji captured the Hum and Ha Generals and took Azure Dragon Pass, while Yu Hua’s Blood-Transforming Divine Saber wounded Jinzha and Muzha before Yang Jian obtained its antidote. After Yu Hua was executed, Yu Yuan came seeking revenge, and Xiao Tian used a shared dream to teach Nezha, Yang Jian, and Lei Zhenzi new abilities, leaving the armies facing Yu Yuan at Sishui Pass.
Xiao Tian defeated Yu Yuan’s challenge through Yang Jian, then visited Biyou Palace to tell Cult Master Tongtian about Fire Spirit Holy Mother’s marriage to Lei Zhenzi and warn him that Jiejiao disciples might obstruct the Investiture of the Gods Plan. Cult Master Tongtian approved of the marriage but cautioned Xiao Tian not to disregard Biyou Palace’s immortals, leaving their conversation unresolved.
Xiao Tian left Biyou Palace after Cult Master Tongtian gave him permission to kill Jiejiao disciples who obstructed the Investiture of the Gods Plan. When Golden Spirit Holy Mother confronted him, Xiao Tian defended his actions and revealed Zhao Gongming’s feelings for her, then considered the Mosquito Taoist’s connection to Turtle Spirit Holy Mother’s fate.
Xiao Tian left Biyou Palace after urging Golden Spirit Holy Mother to address Yu Yuan and hinting that she should seek out Zhao Gongming. At Cloud-Piercing Pass, Nezha killed Long Anji, but Chen Geng’s Wenhuang Formation stalled Li Jing’s army until Yang Ren destroyed it and killed Chen Geng.
Xiao Tian advanced the Investiture of the Gods plan as the Zhou army fought through Yin Shang's defenses, while secretly preserving Yuan Hong and misleading Jiejiao disciples. The chapter left Jiejiao's immortals searching everywhere for the missing Zhao Gongming, unaware that Xiao Tian was planting traces of his aura to keep them occupied.
