Arc 6The Abduction at Luoyang
Li Yuanying’s illness and Huo Qilang’s loyalty reshaped their plans in Youzhou while Baozhu traveled through Luoyang with Wei Xun. After Baozhu was abducted, Wei Xun searched for her as she was imprisoned in a vast compound and forced to train as a dancer.
- Huo Qilang defended Li Yuanying during the Yab attack, was badly wounded, and survived with him after Yuan Shaobo’s cavalry drove off the attackers, and Li Yuanying kissed her as she recovered.
- Li Yuanying took control of Youzhou, exposed Zhu Minhe’s spying, and learned that arsenic poisoning had severely damaged his health, and he told Huo Qilang to assume his identity and rule in his place.
- In Luoyang, Baozhu and Wei Xun grew closer as he protected her from a humiliating official procession and a gang that tried to abduct her, and Baozhu later became Changqiu Temple’s Guanyin Attendant after her coins formed a sacred sign.
- Baozhu led the City Procession with Wei Xun beside her, but she disappeared the next day while Wei Xun was lured away, and Thirteenth Son was left badly injured and Yang Xingjian was also hurt.
- Wei Xun searched Luoyang with help from the Seven Supremes, while Yang Xingjian pressured the authorities to investigate, and Wei Xun discovered that the Guanyin Attendants had been disappearing and that their figurines were funerary pottery.
- Baozhu was taken to the Rainbow Garment Courtyard, where she met Mi Moyan and learned that former Guanyin Attendants had lived there, after Zhao Shi forced her to train, Baozhu struck her with a pipa and tried to escape.
- The guards captured Baozhu and Mi Moyan and forced them to train in ankle shackles under Jade Ewer, and Baozhu learned the courtyards belonged to a ruler called Sun and wondered who controlled the compound.
