After their break at the service area, Xiao Jingxi switched to the rear car for the second leg of the drive, just as expected.
Liu Woxing became the driver of the lead car. Lai Bingxuan thought Xiao Jingxi's presence in the rear car brought bad luck, so she insisted on switching over too.
And so, the passengers in both cars underwent a complete reshuffle.
The lead car now held Liu Woxing, Xie Mi, Shen Yeqing, and Lai Bingxuan.
The rear car held Xiao Jingxi, Qiu Chengye, Yu Jinche, and Xu Shuangrong.
Now, one car was all laughs, while the other was anything but.
Without needing the director to prompt them, the people in the lead car had already launched into a sing-along.
Surprisingly, Lai Bingxuan had quite a lovely singing voice. She and Xie Mi sang a heartfelt duet in the back seat, making Liu Woxing smile so brightly behind the wheel that she looked as though she could keep driving forever without getting tired.
Shen Yeqing, meanwhile, played the roles of devoted audience member and voice-operated jukebox.
He selected and skipped songs for the two singers in the back seat, and offered plenty of enthusiastic support.
