Fairy Continent.
Tang San watched the crimson Mecha, nearly four meters tall, lop off the head of the town's last pig demon as easily as slicing melons and chopping vegetables. The hideous head rolled across the ground, spinning several times before coming to face him, a trace of terror still lingering in its eyes.
Every monster in this little town had been slaughtered by the Mecha that had appeared without warning. Ahead lay corpses piled into mountains.
The once-ferocious monsters could now only be butchered like chickens at their leisure. The sturdy armor resisted every attack; the offensive power they had been so proud of could not even pierce the other side's defenses.
"Kid, what's your name?"
The crimson Mecha lowered its head and studied the dazed Tang San.
After a long while without a response, its pilot shook her head. "Probably scared witless. This continent really is something. Instead of relying on their own wisdom, humans can only use a trace of demonic power in their bloodlines to resist the monsters ruling over them. After being penned up for so many years, few have any fighting spirit left."
"You think this is just about one continent? Under the Emperor's command, we can rule that stretch of stars and even venture beyond our star system. Barring exceptional cases, the Demon Race has the upper hand in most planes. Of all the planes we've visited, how many have you seen where humans rule?" the pilot of another Mecha said, shaking her head.
"Sigh, it hurts to look at..." The first pilot sighed softly.
"You and I both know where the demonic power mixed into human bloodlines came from. The suffering of their ancestors should have been humanity's shame, yet they use it to resist the Demon Race. What bitter irony."
