As the members of the Senju Clan stared in shock at everything before them.
Yuna Nara was the first to react, crying out, "Tobirama Senju, how dare you toy with the spirits of our forebears!"
Her words should have roused the Senju clansmen from their fear.
However...
"Shut up! You bitch who got Kawarama killed-"
That voice had not come from Tobirama Senju, but from the awakened spirits of their forebears.
They shouted in unison, their different voices overlapping until the cry echoed through the open sky above the Memorial Stone, piercing the clouds.
The voices of the dead were utterly strange.
They seemed to come from an abyss, eerie sounds like those of chickens being strangled.
At that instant, every member of the Senju Clan present wavered.
No...
It felt almost like a dream. Even their thoughts ground to a halt.
Yet the spirits did not stop. They spoke over one another, lamenting and accusing Itama Senju and all of Kawarama's widows, especially Yuna Nara.
"These women... had affairs with Itama... seduced Kawarama while they were menstruating... made Kawarama die in bed... Itama murdered his own brother without getting a drop of blood on his hands... there was no evidence of their crimes... how tragic..."
The accusations from the dead left the normally silver-tongued Yuna speechless.
In fact, they were not the only ones who felt as though they were dreaming. Tobirama Senju felt the same way.
These days, Tobirama Senju often summoned the "ancestors" for meetings.
Under the pretext of "comforting the spirits with news of their descendants," Tobirama Senju told these Senju elders everything, good and bad alike.
When necessary, Tobirama Senju even secretly brought the "ancestors" to Konoha so they could see its development for themselves.
This was something Tobirama Senju would never have done before.
