When he made combat puppets before, he could slap any old hair on them. The scarier, the better.
But this was a puppet meant for display. Its human form was complete, and its body and facial features were all perfect.
But the hair!
What was he supposed to do about the hair?
Sasori stared at the puppet with a deep frown.
He had put painstaking effort into even its eyeballs and internal organs.
Yet looking at the bald finished product left him feeling awful.
Putting a wig on it would be far too tacky.
An image of the Land of Wind, ravaged by wind and sand, rose unbidden in Sasori's mind. If he failed to handle this puppet's hair properly and simply put a wig on it...
A real beauty standing in the wind would look beautiful in another way, even with her hair blowing about.
But if this puppet wore a wig, one strong gust would blow its hair away, leaving a gleaming bald head in its place...
And the hair on its head wasn't the only problem. It had no eyebrows, eyelashes... or hair anywhere else, either.
That horrifying image made Sasori feel as though his aesthetic sensibilities had been insulted.
Yanbai didn't notice Sasori's dilemma at all.
He had contributed quite a bit during the construction process, too. Once the finished product was ready, he tested how the humanoid puppet's eyes and lips opened and closed.
For the eyes, Sasori had originally wanted to use the gel used to make the internal organs, but Yanbai had said that using that material alone would leave the eyes without any luster.
So, after discussing it, they made the puppet's eyeballs to match the dimensions of real human
