Background / History

Yanbai is a GM who killed the Cross-Dressing System before leaving the virtual Naruto world. Its destruction corrupted his system panel and triggered emergency mode, which forcibly equipped the system’s female skin and granted his healing-and-replication ability 2.

Within the Senju household, he had been known as Kashima Senju. Three days after his mother’s death, Tobirama discovered his apparently female form. Yanbai deliberately allowed the misunderstanding to stand: the forced skin made him look female regardless of his actions, and proving he was male would invite conflict over his appearance. Butsuma stripped him of the name Kashima, but his exceptional healing talent allowed him to retain the Senju surname and remain in the clan head’s residence 2.

His affection for his family coexists with considerable ruthlessness. He challenges the adults who send children to war, helps postpone his brothers’ deployment, and comforts animals; he also repeatedly injures people before healing them, fabricates accusations against an enemy clan, and considers impersonation as a solution to a succession dispute 8 10 24 35 47.

Strength matters more to him than how others interpret his gender or behavior. Although others mistake his dealings with Madara for romance, Yanbai initially rejects romantic involvement in the virtual world, and Madara later confirms that their connection is friendship rather than a love affair 2 45.

Protecting the Senju Household

Yanbai’s healing keeps enough adult combatants alive to delay Kawarama and Itama’s deployment. His battlefield excursions nevertheless provoke Tobirama’s surveillance and house arrest. At the cemetery, he rejects being blamed for casualties he did not cause and confronts Butsuma over the adults’ responsibility for war 1 2 3 8.

Preserving Hashirama and Madara’s Friendship

Using his knowledge of the original story, Yanbai shields the boys’ meetings from discovery and warns them that Madara’s family will demand Hashirama’s death. He redirects suspicion toward a fabricated first-love story involving himself, staging an embrace for Izuna to witness and simultaneously forcing Madara’s Sharingan to awaken 4 13 14 15.

The deception creates further complications: Tajima treats Yanbai as a potential acquisition for the Uchiha Clan, while Butsuma interprets his missing clothes as evidence of an Uchiha romantic connection 17 28 45.

Clan Schemes and Tobirama’s Cooperation

Yanbai helps frame the Hagoromo Clan for Saionji Kaede’s murder, intending to buy his brothers more time before entering battle. The later account identifies the fabricated charges as leading to the clan’s rapid extermination 24 43.

When Madara and Izuna are pursued, Yanbai supplies indirect guidance rather than leaving under surveillance and exposing them to the Senju Clan as well. Moral Instruction and the Imperial Road Ambush

Concerned by Yanbai’s power and shameless intelligence gathering, Butsuma assigns him to study Buddhism with Hashirama. Their shared training produces new Wood Release adaptations 43 44.

Yanbai later joins Date Yuzhi’s escort toward the Land of Pines. During the Uchiha ambush, he keeps Tobirama beside him, heals his injuries, and uses Guanyin Chaotic Shadows to block and trap an attacker’s sword 47 48.
