It was early morning.
For the first time, Yanbai ate a breakfast someone else had made for him, yet he could not help wondering whether his original revenge on Tobirama had only dug a deep pit for himself.
The night before, Izuna had clung to Yanbai and refused to let him leave.
Izuna had kept saying things like, "The child really wants you to spend time with him. Do you even have a conscience?" and "Junlin said Muye and Silver Moon had their parents with them growing up, while he had nothing"...
Yanbai kept feeling that Izuna was getting a little too worked up.
Several times, Yanbai had nearly blurted out the truth, but he had held back.
Ultimately, Yanbai was the real culprit behind Junlin's miserable childhood, so Izuna was not wrong to scold him.
If not for Yanbai, a different child would have been born.
Then, as Izuna kept pestering him, dawn arrived.
Junlin also woke to the sound of Izuna's complaints. He dutifully came over to mediate, then dutifully went to cook.
Using Five Elements Release and the Clone Technique, Junlin prepared a lavish tableful of breakfast in less than half an hour.
"Mother, is the food I made not to your liking?"
Junlin looked at Yanbai cautiously.
His question snapped Yanbai out of his thoughts.
Yanbai casually lifted his eyes and saw Izuna staring at him with his arms folded and a hostile expression.
It was as though, if Yanbai dared say anything that hurt Junlin, Izuna would throw caution to the wind and charge over to fight him for three hundred rounds.
Yanbai looked at Junlin with a smile and said, "No, I'm just still having a little trouble taking it all in..."
