"Watch out, Lord Hokage! An enemy has infiltrated the building!"
Hatake Sakumo reacted swiftly, arriving just as Watanabe Ichiro had finished recounting two embarrassing episodes from Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shimura Danzō's pasts.
He pushed the door open with a grave expression. When he saw the expressions of the three men inside, his dark pupils narrowed slightly, sharp as a blade.
Am I under a Genjutsu?
Why am I seeing the Hokage and the Hokage Assistant chatting so happily with an enemy? And the enemy is dressed as an ANBU.
He stepped back half a pace and formed hand seals, but the scene before him remained unchanged.
"It's all right, Sakumo. He's one of ours."
"This is Leaf Dragon, a Konoha ANBU who has just returned from a long-term mission."
"And this is Hatake Sakumo, the current ANBU Commander-in-Chief."
Hiruzen Sarutobi let out a long breath and gestured as he introduced them, clearing up the misunderstanding.
Thankfully, Hatake Sakumo had arrived in time. Otherwise, who knew what other embarrassing stories would have come out?
Watanabe Ichiro closed his mouth with considerable regret and lowered his gaze. Meanwhile, Shimura Danzō kept his hands busy, shuffling the Konoha documents he had already sorted and organized before sorting them all over again, using the paperwork to conceal his embarrassment.
So he isn't an enemy. This was all a misunderstanding...
Hatake Sakumo stood rooted to the spot in embarrassment.
"But you've come at just the right time, Sakumo. Take Leaf Dragon to the Interrogation Department to go through the procedures."
Hiruzen Sarutobi turned his gaze toward Watanabe Ichiro and gave him an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, Leaf Dragon. You know the ANBU rules."
"I understand."
Watanabe Ichiro nodded, showing no sign of displeasure.
Although recounting embarrassing stories about Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shimura Danzō had temporarily earned
