The sunlight warmed Jiraiya down to his bones. He turned his gaze from the window, picked up a cup of water beside his hospital bed, and slowly drank.
This isn't normal, Jiraiya thought.
Normally, when a patient woke up, the keenly perceptive nurses would immediately come in to check on them. Why hadn't they this time?
Did something happen?
He carefully inspected the hospital room, trying to find anything that seemed off.
A closer look did indeed reveal plenty of things worth noting-
Everything in the room had rounded edges, without a single sharp corner.
The cup in his hand was made of rubber. The walls had been specially treated and felt soft to the touch, while the blanket was excessively soft, as though it would tear apart with a single tug.
The room was a little too quiet. His inability to mobilize chakra seemed to stem not from his severe injuries, but from some sealing jutsu formula placed on him.
This room was ex! There wasn't a single object an ordinary person could use to kill themselves. Even the cup in his hand held too little water for him to choke to death on it.

Jiraiya was dumbfounded.
If I remember right, I carved the reason I had to kill myself into Root's wall-that I was under a genjutsu...
But Black Zetsu's genjutsu has been broken. Why are they still keeping such a close watch on me?
"Has it really been broken...?" The blood-soaked figure appeared again and seized Jiraiya's wrist, only for the phantom Leaf Dragon to disperse it with a chopping strike.
"You're not in good shape. Mito Uzumaki examined you. You'll need at least another half month of rest while you wait for the genjutsu to wear off completely."
